MitchctiM This gives me some Slackeye Slim vibes, which is a good thing. That said, Idanha has a sound all its own. Looking forward to years of more!

High Noon 03:51
The passing bell echos through town warning of a fight two men at the edge of town one sure to die What is you now? You are a ghost Dressed in black, silver & gold the drifter had no chance before his body was even cold they stripped him of all that he had What is you now? You are a ghost Now in the desert the only law is the one of your own a raven in the hanging tree for whom the bell tolls What is you now? You are a ghost

I was standing by the bar when someone yelled my name Over my shoulder the bottles begin to break Always someone looking for a fight Now I'm a wanted man with a price on my head I ride into the mountains but no one seems to forget Always someone looking for a fight I don't blame the sheriff he's just doing his job I shot a single bullet right into his heart Always someone looking for a fight Stagecoach is easy money when you've got to survive The widow of the sheriff was waiting inside Always someone looking for a fight She looked into my eyes & began to cry I felt the stinging warmth of a bullet in my side

Found him dead one day sitting in his chair Glycerine in moonshine, smooth like velvet in the night Dyin' ain't much of a livin' It's almost like holding a gun Sign shot full of holes in deserted streets Following the railroad to another place Buildings burn one by one It's almost like holding a gun The slanted light of moon chained to the sky Clouds on fire drift into the night Dyin' ain't much of a livin' It's almost like holding a gun

I smelled of smoke & kerosene Snow knee-high & drifting Pale blue eyes & hair that curls Sundowner & the girl When we ride to western skies The sun never sets on us Eyes to see & mouths to feed Waiting in the valley We had to leave the wagon team Snow knee-high & drifting When we ride to western skies The sun never sets on us Shootin' holes in the sky We made it to the good hope mine Air so sweet, grass so green Requiem at Mission Springs When we ride to western skies The sun never sets on us

It isn't hard to kill a man If he draws against you It don't hurt so bad when your alone Buried Ma, buried Pa I won't let them die in vain Posse's outside taken my wife I don't intend to get that old It isn't hard to kill a man If he draws against you It don't hurt so bad when your alone You don't own this town Fire is the devil Hidin' like a coward in the smoke I shot him down, he's bleedin' out He's not bound for this world Con-men & Preachers, Thieves & Killers I don't intend to get that old It isn't hard to kill a man If he draws against you It don't hurt so bad when your alone You don't own this town Fire is the devil Hidin' like a coward in the smoke

Livin' high, wide & handsome Billy Mac was a traveling man He dodges trouble like a wild mustang Standing wide with breath Snake Oil or Hot Lead Trading on sickness tryin' to cash in on fear You a hammer lookin' for a nail Don't piss down my back & tell me it's raining The quick & the dead Snake Oil or Hot Lead Hum of the rattlesnake Early in the moon when the wolves run together Living outside & off the law Low down, no good tin horn chiseler Billy Mac sold his very last cure Snake Oil or Hot Lead Hum of the rattlesnake Livin' high, wide & handsome Billy Mac was a traveling man He dodges trouble like a wild mustang Standing wide with breath Snake Oil or Hot Lead Hum of the rattlesnake

Hostages to fortune Gold-tooth Charlie claim jumpin' There ain't no right or wrong Time can change the name of an ocean As big as life & twice as handsome From where the sun now stands A river of movement runs quiet Gentle 'em down in their beds Make this place remember Don't crowd your luck when talkin' to strangers Two old prospectors The seven cities of gold Hostages to fortune Gold-tooth Charlie claim jumpin' There ain't no right or wrong Time can change the name of an ocean

about

The album delves into our history of the west, mainly the Oregon Territory. It’s based on a couple of key events, one of which is the “golden spike” ceremony pictured on the cover, the connection of the transcontinental railroad in 1869.
